How Is This Laser Different?
You’ve probably seen red light devices or infrared lamps online—but not all light therapy is created equal. The Erchonia XLR8 laser we use at Rise Chiropractic is a true Class II cold laser, FDA-cleared and used in clinical settings around the world. (It’s also a serious piece of equipment—retailing at over $11,000.)
Unlike over-the-counter red light gadgets, this low-level laser uses precise wavelengths and frequencies designed to penetrate deep beneath the skin without producing heat or damaging tissue. It works at the cellular level to stimulate mitochondrial energy (a process called photobiomodulation)—which ramps up tissue repair, improves circulation, and calms inflammation from the inside out.
The Erchonia XLR8 delivers targeted, therapeutic energy deeper into the body, where it’s needed most—especially in cases of disc damage, neuropathy, and chronic inflammation. That’s why low-level laser therapy (LLLT) aka "cold laser" is the tool of choice for deep-seated, structural healing.
While more powerful Class III lasers may seem an attractive alternative, they tend to heat surface-level tissues and dissipate much of their energy at the surface. In laser therapy heat is a large factor in determining how deeply a laser can penetrate, which is why science backs "cold lasers" for effective treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and neuropathy.
Bonus fact: Because it doesn’t rely on heat, this treatment is completely painless, non-invasive, and safe for repeated use—even on sensitive areas like the spine, nerves, and joints.

Why We Combine It with Chiropractic Care
Laser therapy is powerful on its own—but it’s even more effective when combined with chiropractic adjustments, decompression, and soft tissue work.
Think of it like this:
-
Chiropractic restores motion and clears interference
-
Decompression relieves pressure and improves circulation
-
Laser accelerates the healing of the damaged tissues involved
Together, these therapies create an ideal environment for your body to recover—not just feel better temporarily, but truly rebuild from the inside out.
